Love N Action Outreach Inc
Love N Action Outreach is a nonprofit organization serving the Wilson community. It is focused on addressing food insecurity and supporting underserved populations through direct outreach. Love N Action provides hot meals, food assistance, and supportive services to low-income families, seniors, and individuals experiencing hardship. Its vision is to create a reliable mobile outreach model that meets people where they are, strengthens community connections, and ensures services are delivered with dignity, consistency, and care. Grant funds will be used to purchase commercial cooking equipment, refrigeration units, ventilation components, and food preparation infrastructure to operate a mobile food trailer.
Nate McMillan Foundation
Founded in 2023, the Nate McMillan Foundation serves young men in Wake and Durham counties. Its mission is to empower young men who have no active father in their lives, through mentorship programs that equip them with tools, values, and the mindset needed to live purposeful, impactful lives. Through its structured mentorship program, they help young men transition successfully into manhood. Funding will be used to help offset program costs, including curriculum materials, mentor background checks, facility and event space rentals, and transportation services.
Walk With Me, Inc.
Walk With Me, Inc. is based in Catawba County, providing counseling, coaching, and adventure-based services to their community. Walk With Me has a unique approach by incorporating horses, farm animals, and nature into programming. The organization offers individual, group, and workshop-based services, along with team building activities. Its programs include Operation Battle Horse (a free program for veterans) and Adventure Academy, a hands-on children’s program focused on social-emotional skill development. Grant funds will be used to provide scholarships for 10 women to participate in the 16-week women’s program and five veterans to attend a 12-week veteran coaching program. Funds will also support supplies for Adventure Academy, offset the cost for counseling sessions with licensed counselors, and cover supplies needed to build a raised plant bed to be used during various program activities.
